An experimental dance piece which debuted on April 19,2012 in Toronto.
A colorful video, created using the visual artifacts of a barely recognizable body, is repurposed as a choreographic score. Pillows in the performance space double as a sculptural material with which anatomy is explored. Sound is micro sampled, glitched and broken until it finds a new pattern through repetition. Movement is based on the discovery of new muscle memory after removing the impressions of the past.
"R-Id" explores a process of 'becoming' through a multi media performance.
In addition to my own performance, I also created the sound for a duet which was choreographed by Davy Bisaro.
